Security at Wardline

Last updated 26 September 2026

Wardline is a platform for shared decisions: records and conversations that several people rely on, where it matters who agreed to what and when. Wardline Co-Parenting is the first application built on it. This page explains how the platform protects those records, and then what that means for co-parents.

The platform

Our approach

We build Wardline to be checked, not just trusted. Three ideas run through everything: give each person only the access they need, give our own staff no routine access at all, and make the records prove their own integrity.

Every shared space is separate

Each group using Wardline gets its own isolated space. The separation is enforced by the database itself, not just by our application code, so a bug in one part of the app can't expose another group's records.

Encrypted, with a key unique to each space

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Messages are also encrypted with a key that belongs to that space alone, held in a hardware-backed key management service. When a space is closed, its members get 30 days to export their records. After that, the key is destroyed and the content becomes permanently unreadable, including to us.

Records that show any change

Every message, request, approval and vote is added to a permanent, append-only history. Each entry is mathematically linked to the one before it, so changing or deleting anything after the fact breaks the chain and is detectable. A platform-wide copy of key events is kept in write-once storage that can't be edited, even by us.

Big decisions need everyone

Members with full authority make the significant decisions together. Promoting someone to full authority, removing a full member, bringing in a shared professional, and closing the space all require the agreement of every other full member. No single person can make these changes alone.

No standing access for Wardline staff

Our team can't browse your records. In the rare case that someone needs to see real data to resolve a problem:

Support staff can't search for accounts. To get help, you create a short-lived code in the app and give it to the support agent.

About AI features

Where Wardline offers AI assistance, such as the optional tone check, the text being checked is sent to an AI service in the same cloud platform we use, to be analysed. Your content is never used to train AI models. AI features only suggest; they never block what you choose to do.

In Wardline Co-Parenting

In the co-parenting app, each family is its own space, and the parents are the members with full authority.

Both parents are equal

Neither parent controls the account. Removing a parent, bringing in a shared mediator or parenting coordinator, and closing the family's account all need both parents' agreement.

Your children's details stay with your family

Children's names, dates of birth, school and medical details are held only inside your family's encrypted space. Wardline keeps no central list of children, and nothing outside your family's space links a child's record to who they are.

Professionals only see what you allow

A mediator, coordinator or attorney only has access that the family has granted, and a shared professional can't read the family's messages unless both parents agree to it.

A record you can take to court

Every message, schedule change, expense and agreement is part of your family's tamper-evident history. You can export your records yourself, at any time, for free, without contacting support.

Nobody at Wardline takes sides

Wardline doesn't decide disputes between parents. If you can't agree, the question goes to a professional you've both chosen, or stays open until you resolve it yourselves.

Independent review

We plan to have our controls audited independently and to publish summaries of penetration test results.
